Here you will find a list of Pain Management Hospitals that treat chronic pain conditions in children. The hospitals can be located in the UK and have a wide experience in treating all types of chronic pain disorders. Great Ormond Street Hospital - Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) is located in London and is the top childrens hospital in the whole of the UK. It therefore has extensive knowledge in treating all sorts of chronic pain disorders. GOSH runs it's very own Intense Physiotherapy Program especially for children with chronic pain disorders which is aimed to try and reduce pain and improve mobility. Alison (Founder of Kids In Pain) has been onto their intense physiotherapy program twice before so if you have any questions, please ask her as she would be more than happy to help if she can!!
 
Bath Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases - Bath Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases is a great hospital and offers an intense rehabillitation program for adults, young adults and adolescents with chronic pain. The rehabillitation program aims to enhance daily functioning and teach indivuals how to 'cope' with their pain. The program has a high success rate and the link provides all of the relevant information so is definitiely worth looking into!!
 
Sheffield Childrens Hospital - Sheffield Childrens Hospital is a great multidisciplinary hospital that has a great Pain Management team. The Pain Management team consists of Pain Management Doctors, Pain Nurses, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Neurologists and Occupational Therapists. All of the staff are really friendly and aim to try and treat chronic pain the very best they can by the use of pain medications, nerve blocks, physiotherapy, surgery if required, adaptive devices etc etc. Alison (Founder of Kids In Pain) has been attending Sheffield Children's Hospital for nearly 2 years now since she was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome so if you have any questions, please let her know and she will try and answer them the best she can!!!
 
Bristol Royal Hospital For Children  Bristol Royal Hospital For Children is a great hospital with a specialist Pain Management Unit specialising in Anaesthesia for children and adolescents (teenagers). The hospital has great staff and it is their goal to try and reduce pain as much as possible if they possibly can.
 
The Royal Shrewsbery Hospital - The Royal Shrewsbery Hospital is a great hospital with a excellent Pain Management Clinic for both adults and children. The clinic specialises in trying to reduce all forms of chronic pain as much as possible by the use of medications, physiotherapy etc. All of the staff are really compassionate so the hospital is definitely worth checking out!!
 
Plymouth Hospital - Plymouth is the only hospital in the whole of the South West that has a dedicated childrens pain team. All of the staff at Plymouth hospital are really caring and friendly and have the patients best interests at heart. The staff try and reduce chronic pain as much as possible and even have a specialist program for pain that doesn't respond to any other treatment to try and help the child 'deal' with their pain as much as possible and improve function and quality of life.
 
Alder Hey Children's Hospital - Alder Hey Children's Hospital is located in Liverpool and specialises in treating paediatric illnesses. The hospital has a great Pain Management Clinic that treats all sorts of chronic pain conditions in young people. The hospital is really clean and currently has one of the lowest infection rates in the whole of the UK - a good reason to look into the hospital even further!!
 
Leeds Teaching Hospitals - Leeds Teaching Hospital is a great hospital that treats both adults and young people. The hospital has it's own Pain Management Unit and in 2004 was given funding to improve the services provided further. The Pain Team now consists of four clinical anaesthetists, a clinical Psychologist, Physiotherapist's, Pharmacist and excellent nurses who are compassionate when treating patients!
 
University Hospitals of Leicester - The University Hospital of Leicester has a great Pain Management Service that specialises in treating chronic pain such as neuropathic pain, cancer pain and chronic back pain. The service treats both adults and children and is dedicated to trying to reduce pain and improve the patients quality of life. The hospital has a number of different approaches to try and reduce pain, these include day cases where the patient will come in in the morning for an injection etc to try and relieve the pain and then be sent home a few hours later, Pain Programs where they teach patients how to live with pain, Pain Physiotherapy and complementary therapies such as accupuncture and the use of TENS machines. The hospital has a high success rate in treating chronic pain sufferers and is definitely worth checking out if you haven't already!
 
Belfast Hospital For Sick Children - The Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children is the only hospital in the area dedicated to the care of children. The hospital has several different units specialising in different illnesses including a Pain Management Unit. All of the doctors and health care professionals attached to the unit have a wide range of knowledge in treating chronic pain disorders and have the patients best interests at heart. The Hospital has it's own Pain Management Program also which is aimed to try and reduce pain levels and improve mobility.
 
South Tees Hospitals - South Tees Hospital is located in Middlesbrough and is an exceptional hospital specialising in all sorts of illnesses. The Hospital has it's own Pain Management Unit that treats both children and adults in a variety of ways including the use of medications, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and surgery if needed. All of the staff at South Tees are really friendly and dedicated to helping both adults and children!
