McGill Pain Scale

Above is a copy of the McGill Pain Scale. It shows all types of pain conditions, injuries etc and ranks them indivually on the pain scale depending on how bad the pain is. 0 = no pain and 50 = the most painful thing imaginable. As you can see, Causalgia (CRPS) is towards the end of the pain scale at a 43 and is ranked the most painful chronic pain condition known at the moment.

Athritis is currently ranked at a 20 and is about the same pain level as bad tooth ache.

We hope that you will find the McGill Pain Scale to be useful and that it will help your family understand just how bad your paticular chronic pain condition is. The McGill Pain Scale has been created by medical professionals who have done lots of research into all chronic pain conditions and injuries.
